The previous post was actually written some time ago but only published today.  Since then G became Vegetarian and then Vegan which she's now been for well over a year.  Some things have changed some things and others not.  The draw and the fridge are still full of condiments.

We've added lots of vegan option such as non-dairy Flora and non-dairy milks.  We've experimented with lentil bolognese, vegan moussaka, vegan lasagna, tons of tofu dishes, oriental style broths, homemade wontons and more.

Changes have also occurred due to my health issues and having to tweak a few things.

Things have gone to pot a little recently due to the extreme hot weather (at least it is for us).  We're hoping to make a comeback when the kitchen cools down.

Meanwhile a few pictures of some simple dishes that were made a few weeks ago.

Too hot to cook, make something cold - Gazpacho
Breakfast smoothie

What do you do with lots of cucumber and dill -
make salad of course
Mid week lunch - salad in pita bread

What do you and your family eat for family meals on a daily basis?

Somehow, we have developed a reputation amongst our children's friends for eating posh food.  In our eyes we eat interesting food as we like a good variety in the dishes we have.  Not to say that we don't eat comfort foods like macaroni cheese or beef casserole or even fish fingers.  And no, I don't cook proper meals every single day of the week.  Come the weekend and the kids often have to fend for themselves.  We buy packets of noodles by the box load from Wing Yip.  The flip side is that the kids have learnt to add extra flavour by themselves.  On our counter we have a suitable collection of bottles containing various soy sauces, sesame oil, chilli etc.  Another draw contains the oils and vinegars.
